Academic Program

Bachelor of Engineering Program

Civil Engineering

OBJECTIVE & CHARACTERISTICS

The objective of this department is to create a learning environment for civil engineering students, so that they can learn about civil engineering such as Structured Engineering, Material Engineering, Soil Mechanic, Water Resources Engineering, Survey and Construction Inspection which are relevant to engineering applications.

The civil engineering program is a flexible and diverse course that allows students to choose from a broad range of courses to receive a well-rounded education while maintaining high academic standards.

Courses

The Civil Engineering department in Nonthaburi was one of the oldest pioneering engineering schools when the department first started as a carpenter school in 1941. In 2015 it was called the department of Civil Engineering.  In 2016 the Civil Engineering program was established.

The courses provide opportunities for students who want to study for a bachelor of engineering degree. The courses equip the students with excellent knowledge and competencies in civil engineering. The duration of this program is 4 years.    Students take engineering courses which deal with basic concepts in mathematics, science and fundamental engineering principles.

This is followed by a balanced-mix of core courses in civil engineering discipline. The courses include Basic Theory of Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Engineering Drawing & Measurement, Structural Analysis, Concrete Design, and Steel Structures. The department designs, so that the students are able to pursue a career relating to planning, designing and construction of buildings, water resources management, surveys, and computer aided drawing (CAD). Upon graduation, the students are able to be involved in various civil engineering professions.

Facilities

The facilities of this department include Survey Instruments Lab, Computer Aided Drawing Room Lab (CAD), Hydraulics Lab, Soil Mechanics Lab, Survey Instrument Lab, Field Practices Lab, Materials Testing Lab, and Transport Materials Testing Lab.
